Texas Sheet Cake

HELLO Chocolate lovers!  Who doesn’t love a delicious sheet cake to splurge on?  This is out of the Carter’s Family cook book.  And oh it is so mouth watering A+.  The texture on this is lighter than a pan of brownies..  It is so amazingly tasteful.  I couldn’t stop. After I had my piece I continued to sneak my fork into the pan… Honestly, I ate and ate and then it was one of those desserts that you cannot stop thinking about.  It has been haunting me for weeks now.
I need someone who can partake of this goodness with me because if I make it alone then it is OVER.  Know what I mean?  Serve it with your favorite ice cream on the side and happy smiles is all that you will see.  Oh, and the frosting is perfectly perfect too 🙂
INGREDIENTS :
1 cup water
1/2 cup Hershey’s cocoa
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
DIRECTIONS:
1-  bring water,cocoa and butter to a boil…let cool
2-  combine flour,sugar,salt and baking soda in separate bowl (with an electric mixer)
3-  add eggs and sour cream
4-  pour into greased sheet pan at 350 for 20 minutes or until your knife comes out clean
FROSTING:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa
6 Tablespoons milk
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
(mix with an electric mixer)
Directions:
1-  melt butter,cocoa and milk in a pot
2-  add other ingredients and spread over cake while still warm
