I have been cooking up a storm and have tons of yummy dishes to share! Stay tuned as you need new ideas this fall 🙂
This slow cooker chicken is delicious. Not only delicious but safe! All of my kids liked it. If you have any picky eaters then I would recommend leaving the sesame seeds off. I am totally obsessed with using my crock pot.
Dinner time could not be more hectic at my house. Everyone needs to be everywhere all at once and somehow we need to feed our bodies in between.
I found this on “A Bountiful Kitchen” website. Very easy to prepare and the texture of this is very tender. I hope you like it.
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I always throw a few more in)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, I left them out)
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 heaping Tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/3 cup water
- sesame seeds
1- In slow cooker, combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic, pepper flakes and pepper.
2- Place chicken in cooker(I use frozen), turn to cover with sauce
3- cook on low 3 to 4 hours or just until chicken is cooked through
4- remove chicken from slow cooker, leaving sauce in ceramic insert
5- turn heat to high on slow cooker
6- whisk cornstarch into water and pour into slow cooker. Whisk to combine with sauce. Replace lid and cook sauce on high for 10 more minutes or until slightly thickened
7- shred chicken, then return to pot and toss with sauce before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired and serve with rice.
*Makes 4-6 servings.
