White Chocolate Popcorn

This is the ULTIMATE of all ULTIMATE!  White chocolate popcorn has never tasted so good.  Anyone who has been able to partake of this goodness will agree with me. My friend, Carol Moss told me about this years and years ago and I am so glad.  This is every one’s favorite!   Especially during the holidays.  I usually give it for neighbor gifts and such.  It’s also lighter than your typical guilty pleasure.
This could be super cute to have around for Valentines Day.  Put a few drops of red food coloring into your chocolate  and you’ve got yourself some “pink” white chocolate popcorn.  It is Heavvvenly. No joke!
I prefer to get my chocolate from Bakers Cash and Carry in Murray.  There is white chocolate at the grocery store and at Orson Gygi but nothing compares to Bakers C&C.  It melts like butter and spreads like honey.  I usually get the 5 lb bag ($17.00)  but get more if you want to have some on hand.
  • 1  cup “Merkin”  white chocolate
  • Orville Redenbacher popcorn, butter flavor, 94% fat free (1 bag) – You can find this cheapest in bulk at Costco
  1. Pop the popcorn
  2. Pour popcorn into bowl and place just the popcorn into another bowl leaving behind the kernels
  3. Put chocolate into microwave safe dish and heat for 45 seconds..stir  and heat for 45 seconds more…stir again and heat for 20 more. Continue until it is soft and running but be careful not to burn it.
  4. Once the chocolate is melted, drizzle over the popcorn without kernels and mix well.  Pour onto wax paper or foil.
  5. Let it stand until chocolate has hardened and then….mmm mmm mmm!
